Frequently asked questions about order editing
Why don’t I just use Shopify native editing? I don’t have to pay for it.
You can definitely edit post-purchase orders in the Shopify admin, but you won’t be able to edit every order. As a result, some order requests may be left waiting for days. Additionally, many of the changes made using Shopify’s native editing will require multiple clicks and manual entry of information. This greatly increases the likelihood of errors and unnecessarily extends the time needed to process orders.
If I can’t edit an order, why can’t I just cancel it and have the customer make a new one?
You can certainly do that. When a customer (finally) reaches a representative for assistance, the last thing they want to hear is that they have to repeat everything or provide payment details again.
