Getting to know Edit Order 3.0

Edit Order is now faster than ever, with more flexibility and features to grow your business

Edit Order has a new look that will help you get the information you need faster and make your edits quicker! With our new design, we’re laying the groundwork to build more powerful features and to set the stage to automate common order tasks.

Why a new design?

Our new design isn’t just about looking good; we wanted to improve Edit Order based on merchant needs. Here are some of the priorities we had for this release:

Get more of the order in view

A big impact you’ll see immediately is that you’ll now have more of the order editing page in view, which means less scrolling and faster, more efficient editing.

Prioritize common tasks

We’ve added a lot of functionality to Edit Order over the years, so it was time to take a step back and look at which features were being used over others and make them more available and useable in the interface.

Make way for future bulk and automation tasks

We’ll be adding pro features for sales teams and customer service that will allow for bulk editing of taxes, discounts, quantity and individual log-ins, and more. We’re also planning to add automation for common tasks that will help you reduce the amount of time it takes to process orders.

What are the new features?

These features are available today, only on Edit Order 3.0

Example new features

For all Edit Order plans

  • New streamlined design for faster and easier order editing
  • Percentage discounts for carts and for line items now available with a reason field for better customer service monitoring
  • Edit and convert abandoned carts to draft orders to provide incentives, close sales, and take payment for invoices

  • Preset Line Item Properties so you don’t have to enter the same set of customization information over and over again. Contact us for more info on setup and customizations.

What’s next?

In the coming months, we’re rolling out more features that will make Edit Order even more powerful and useful for you:

  • Edit before payment capture For customer service and sales team looking for added flexibility editing before payment capture is right around the corner
  • Exchange workflow Coming up is a new admin workflow for exchanging items that’s easier to use and also generates a more transparent revised order for the customer
  • Editing without duplicating orders Edit Order is moving to Shopify’s new order editing API soon. And, for certain kinds of edits, this will remove the need to duplicate an order in Edit Order
  • Customer facing edits We’ll be adding front end editing for customers who prefer to do it themselves when it comes to editing orders
  • Shopify Flow automation Use the power of Edit Order and Shopify Flow to create automated marketing promotions

Most brands pour everything into acquisition, then go quiet the second a customer checks out. That's backwards. Here are the four post-purchase levers that actually compound customer lifetime value — upsells, loyalty, subscriptions, and self-serve order editing — plus how to figure out which one to fix first.

Most Shopify brands pour everything into the moment before checkout, then go quiet the second someone clicks buy. PRO is built for that gap: the window between checkout and fulfillment where order value, retention, and CLV are won or lost.
